Location: Colonia Arbide. Leon, Guanajuato.

Due to the east orientation towards the street of the port of Malaga - west towards the neighboring property at the back, we proposed to propose an L-shaped scheme, locating the service spaces taking advantage of the 15 meters in front and the social and private areas oriented towards the south. Taking half of the land for construction and the other part for a garden and open area, which would allow lighting and cross ventilation to the main spaces. This condition causes the spaces to be arranged around a large double-height space that houses the social areas, kitchen, dining room and living room and that ends with the entrance to the main bedroom on the ground floor.

.

Inside, the house was designed as a route since when opening the door a small corridor compresses us to go inside, this transition allows us to discover all the ground floor spaces, in a non-linear sequence, but in a staggered way, allowing the height and proportion of the spaces define their hierarchy. Since one of the wishes of the clients was the amplitude of the spaces, it was decided to link most of the social area on the ground floor with a garden where it is possible to walk through sliding doors and swing them to allow the social area to be opened to the outside.

We used the urban image of the context in favor of the spaces so that they projected their heights in an increasing way through a staggering, merging two volumes visible from the street that communicate this sequential staggering. Where the inhabitant goes through the different spaces that vary their forms depending on the related activities.
